During the CES 2009 event, Moto will showcase a trio of phones it announced today.

As expected, the Motorola Renew is nothing but an “environmentally responsible” phone, with a housing made out of recycled plastic water bottles. It has eco-friendly design and packaging, but when it comes to features it is just your ordinary budget model for phone calls and text messages. Expect it with T-Mobile USA in the first quarter.

The Motorola Tundra VA76r is designed to withstand abuse, meeting US 810F Military Specifications. Although it is tough, this Push to Talk phone also has some features to offer, packing aGPS with AT&T Navigator, 3G, stereo Bluetooth and 2-megapixel camera. AT&T will offer it starting January 13th, for $200 after a $50 MIR and a two-year contract.

Last but not least, here is the Motorola SURF A3100, called „touch tablet”. This is the first Motorola Windows Mobile Professional smartphone, and like most of its rivals will come with personalized homescreen. We’d like to see the customization in other menus as well, but this will have to wait until CES in order to see what Moto has done. The A3100 is a global GSM/3G phone with Wi-Fi, GPS, 3-megapixel camera and 2.8” QVGA display. It will be available “in multiple markets” in Q1, but there is no word on the exact carrier availability.

Thoughts or rumors already swarmed the software firm when they started to cut employees about six months ago. Bankruptcy was finally declared at court in Sweden. What pushed this company “over the edge” was Nokia’s purchase of Symbian, and their plan to market it for free. Their Chief Executive John Sandberg explained that their company has “no opportunities to create a new line of business in the current financial climate.”

Sony Ericsson has its contacts among the spies over the world and even the top-agent Bond, James Bond loves to take advantage of its devices.
It’s an often thing that a secret employee would take a blurred shot of a yet unannounced product. Until recently, the most attractive device for the cameras has been the smartphone Paris (not Hilton), but it’s now Kate (C510) that also holds the spotlight and its photos are really hi-quality.

It’s expected to be a pretty low-end cameraphone (its body is covered with finished metal), which will have a 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus and a LED flash. Although the number of the megapixels is not that impressive, it seems that the model packs many features that we have seen in the high-class devices. The list includes face and smile recognition, ”Photo fix” for image editing, as well as a key for immediate upload to a blog. The display is going to be 2.2-inch with QVGA resolution, and the built-in memory – 160 MB. The already typical for Sony Ericsson funny illumination effects, depending on the theme, will also be available.

The Sony Ericsson C510 is expected to launch in February, but still, its price remains unknown.

With stories of constant handset returns due to dropped calls, poor reception and buggy performance, British cellular carrier Orange is said to stop offering the popular BlackBerry Bold. Back in October,
Bold sales were suspended and RIM tried to fix the problems with firmware updates, but it has been to no avail. And while this speculation has been bandied about the media in England, officially the phone remains for sale at retail outlets and on the web site of the networker.

At the same time, the BlackBerry Storm has been having problems of its own. However, the first touchscreen BlackBerry is offered in Britain exclusively by Vodafone and the carrier has said nothing about taking drastic action with the device.
